Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation www.bearnecessities.org
What do the children we help have in common? They are just like any other kids except they have cancer. In 2009, join TEAM BEAR THE CHALLENGE and help kids battling cancer.
Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation, founded in 1992, has a mission to eliminate pediatric cancer and to provide hope and support to those who are touched by it. President and Founder Kathleen A. Casey and her eight-year-old son, Barrett “Bear” Krupa started Bear Necessities during Bear’s five-year struggle with cancer. Bear’s dream was that every child battling cancer would have the same support that he received from his friends and family. From that simple dream, Bear Necessities was born.
Bear Necessities has three main programs designed to provide immediate needs, ongoing support, and ultimately a cure. The Small Miracle Program provides personalized events, activities, or gifts for children who are suffering with pediatric cancer. The two grant programs are national in scope and provide support for programs directly impacting pediatric cancer patients, families and hospital facilities as well as seed funding for early stage cancer research.
