2010 Marathon Training Program
If your goal or dream is to complete the Bank of America Chicago Marathon on Sunday, October 10th, or another fall marathon, we can help you make it happen. Our popular, 18-week program designed by Runner’s World Contributing Editor Hal Higdon starts on Saturday, June 12th and will prepare you to successfully and safely cross the finish line.
There are many exciting benefits of training with CARA this summer. First, we'll kick off the training program with the not-to-be missed Super Clinic on May 22nd which includes informative workshops given by experts in the running industry. We'll also outfit you with a limited edition CARA technical shirt, as well as provide you with a 1-year subscription to Running Times, one of the most regarded running publications in the industry. Your Saturday long runs will be led by friendly, knowledgeable, and experienced CARA Group Leaders - we have plenty at each 30 second pace interval, from 7:00 to 12:00 min/mile! And best of all, CARA marathon training participants get a free entry into our 4th annual Ready to Run 20 Miler on September 19th. (Marathon Training Program participants must be a CARA member to receive this benefit)
Since its start in 1989, CARA has helped more than 25,000 runners complete the 26.2 mile course of the Chicago Marathon and other fall races. We've helped thousands of aspiring marathoners and seasoned veterans make it to the finish line, and we can help you, too.
(Please note: Registration for the Bank of America Chicago Marathon is separate.)
