Stephanie Hughes

CARA Race Committee

Stephanie Hughes has always found running to be a huge part of her life. Her first official "race" was the 1996 Dominick's Youth Mile Run associated with the Chicago Marathon. She finished in 4th place for the 7-8 year old girls and loved it! She went on to run cross country and track at Lane Tech High School, where she was the Chicago Public Schools City Champion all four years. She then attended DePaul University as a scholarship athlete on their NCAA DI track and cross country teams.

Since college Stephanie has switched her focus to road racing and is now in her third year as a member of the Fleet Feet / Nike Racing Team. She has run 7 marathons so far, including Chicago, Boston, and Berlin. Her best marathon to date was at the 2013 Chicago Marathon where she ran 2:54:49 placing 5th overall female finisher from Illinois. She has been participating on the CARA Runners' Choice Circuit since she was 12 years old and is so honored to now be a part of the committee behind it all.
