Beth Onines

CARA Race Committee

Beth Onines is USATF (United States of America Track and Field) Certified Race Director Level 2, A USATF Certified Official and RRCA (Road Runners Club of America) Certified Running Coach. She has been the RRCA Central Region Director for 6 years and the RRCA IL State Representative for 2 years. Beth has such a passion for running and absolutely loves helping other runners reach their goals from running their first 5K to their first ultra marathon by hosting training programs and pacing marathons.

Beth and her husband were founders of the Alpine Runners of Lake Zurich in 1981. After a year, Beth ran a great half marathon so she then ventured to run her first marathon in 1983 when she had no idea that there were any training programs. It was awful for her, but with the help of the CARA group she joined later, experienced marathoners helped her train properly. Beth’s marathon PR is a 3:22 and so far she has run 127 marathons, 12 Chicago Marathons and 6 Boston Marathons. She has also run 62 ultra marathons from 50Ks to a 100 miler and still counting.

As a CARA member since 1986 Beth has been a recipient of many CARA age group awards and in 1995 was awarded the CARA’s Female Master Runner of the Year. In 1995 Beth was awarded the CARA Volunteer of the year. She was also award as the 2011 RRCA Outstanding Club President of the Year!
