Kimberley Stedman

CARA Race Committee

Kimberley Stedman is originally from the United Kingdom. She moved to Chicago in 2006 and works in Banking. She joined CARA in 2008 after attempting her first race, the Shamrock Shuffle 8K. Taking a few steps back she enrolled in CARA's Beginning Running 5K Training Program. A few months later she did her first half marathon, and in 2009 took the plunge and signed up for the Chicago Marathon, and thanks to CARA's marathon training program, she finished it! She has now run 3 full marathons as well as countless other races. She has competed in 3 CARA circuits and placed in her Athena division twice.

Kimberley is the founder of Chicago's Original Winter Half Marathon, the F3 Lake Half Marathon.  People thought it was crazy but the race is now the goal race for CARA's Winter Half Marathon Training Program and attracts over 2,000 runners from all over the country. Running has become a huge part of her life; she has met some incredible people through the Chicago running community, which has become her family away from home. She is excited to be a part of the Racing Committee and to have her "middle of the pack" abilities have an influence over the Runners’ Choice Circuit.
