'Go Run

Race, Run, Jog, Walk, Volunteer - #GoRun Your Park.

'Go Runs are organized, chip-timed, FREE 1 Mile and 5K runs in local parks held every Saturday at 9:00 a.m. from May 21-July 9 and September 24 to November 12

'Go Run is a community partnership between the Chicago Area Runners Association and the Chicago Park District with an objective to activate neighborhood parks, build communities and encourage active lifestyle through running and volunteerism. 'Go Runs aim to become a core part of neighborhood culture, encouraging organic community engagement at, and long after, each run.

After two seasons, 'Go Run has served more than 3,000 finishers - individuals of all ages and abilities - and energized neighborhood residents to come together, both as runners and volunteers, to create something truly inspiring.

With your help, we can do more. Please make a donation to help 'Go Run expand its footprint and make an even greater impact in 2017.

After sign-up participants will be registered for all eight weeks of the program and will be able to run at any of the three parks that are part of the fall series (September 24-November 12). Participants may run at any 'Go Run with the same sign-up.  Volunteers will be able to sign-up for the entire program in a single registration, but will be asked to identify which Saturday’s they are available to volunteer.  Volunteers may return to the form to update their sign-up as needed (login required). Participants are encouraged to volunteer for pre-run roles and then join in on the run.

'Go Runs are open to everyone who is interested in coming out to their neighborhood park to race, run, jog, walk and volunteer. Long-time runners, newcomers, families and children are invited to take part.  Runners with strollers and dogs on leash are also welcome. The volunteers at each ‘Go Run are as important to the mission of the program as are the runners and walkers. Volunteers are needed to help support each run, and also to encourage greater community engagement at each.
