Run / Walk Program

CARA’s run/walk program follows a 5:1 ratio, with 5 minutes running followed by 1 minute walking. Although some Group Leaders may follow slightly different guidelines.

Currently, CARA offers run/walk paces at 10:30, 11, 11:30 and 12 minutes per mile some some of its sites. Runners complete each mile at those paces, i.e. the 11:30 run/walk group will complete the mile in 11:30 and will likely be running at a slightly faster pace.

This method has proven to result in successful marathon performances for hundreds of CARA runners over the last decade and is led by experienced group leaders who complete races using this method.
