Beginner 5K

About

This is an 8-week 5K training program for beginner runners, coached by CARA Coach Sonia Rao. No prior running experience is necessary, and the goal of this program is for participants to complete a 5K at the end of the 8 weeks. This program offers both in-person and virtual options.​

Program Details

Spring Session

Dates: March 30 to May 23

Target Race: 'Go Run™ Jackson Park

Monday Group Runs: 6:00 p.m. at Maggie Daley Park Ribbon

Saturday Group Runs: 8:00 a.m. at Maggie Daley Park Ribbon

Summer Session

Dates: June 8 to August 1

Target Race: 'Go Run™ Columbus Park

Fall Session

Dates: August 31 to October 24

Target Race: 'Go Run™ Warren Park
