Chi-Town Miles is an exciting night of one-mile races on the track! All levels of runners are welcome and will be grouped by pace for different heats that get progressively faster as the night goes on.

One-Mile:

$25 - EARLY MEMBERSHIP PRICE - First 25 members to register
$35 ($27 - MEMBER) - February 27 through April 21
$40 ($36 - MEMBER) - April 22 through May 26
$45 ($40.50 - MEMBER) - May 27 through July 30
$50 ($45 - MEMBER) - July 1 through July 17

Kids 100m & 400m Dash (10 & Under):

$5 - February 27 through July 17

Travel/Parking

Note: Based on 2025 location. 2026 location subject to change.

Parking: Free street parking is available within the park on Montrose Ave., Simonds Dr., Lawrence Ave. (except by Dog Beach0 and Foster Ave. Paid parking is available in the Chicago Park District lots at Wilson Dr. and Lakeshore Dr. (Wilson Lot) and at Foster Avenue and Lakeshore Dr. (Foster Beach), and Montrose Harbor Drive.

Public Transit: The following bus lines will get you near the start; 78-Montrose, 81-Lawrence, 145-Wilson/Michigan, and 146-Marine/Michigan. Be sure to check the bus schedule with your desired departure time. The 145 and 146 routes start running later on the weekends. You may also take the Red-Line Train to Wilson and head east about one mile to the start.

Ride Share: Those traveling to the event by ride share should drop off inside the Wilson Lot. Ride share drivers will not be able to turn-around on Wilson Dr.

Bike: Bike racks are available near the start/finish line for participants who choose to ride to the race. Please bring a bike lock. A Divvy station is located immediate adjacent to the start line.

Awards

Awards provided to the top three in the Top Men and Top Women heats. Prize money will also be awarded as follows:

First: $500
Second: $250
Third: $150

Note: Should athletes with remaining high school eligibility place in the top three they contact their compliance officer before accepting any prize money.

Recognition awards provided to the top three men and women in each age group:

14 & Under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85 & Over
Age group standings will be compiled by combining all heat results.

Note: Overall award winners will not be awarded in age groups.

An awards ceremony will be held for overall awards winners (top three). Age group awards will be mailed within approximately 2 weeks of the event.

Refund Policy

Participants must agree that refunds and deferrals will NOT be issued for any reason, including participant injury, illness, personal conflict, and any other issues out of the control of the event, including, but not limited to cancellation due to weather/lightning.

Heat Assignments

Heats will be seeded by entry time and will run slowest to fastest.

Heats will combine genders to provide the best opportunity for runners to race among similar ability, except for the Open Men, Open Women, Top Men, and Top Women heats, which will be the fastest men's and women's entries.

Note: The event reserves the right to reasonably adjust the schedule as needed based on registration numbers. If there are changes, a final schedule will be provided prior to race day. Start times for each section are approximate, but races will not start early.

Entry Information

Times entered during registration will be used to group athletes into heats.

Participants who do not have a recent one-mile personal best can use an estimated entry time using the calculator HERE. Enter another race best (i.e. 5K), and click "Calc", then use the one-mile time in the "Average" column.

Please use an entry time that accurately reflects your ability for the one-mile so we can place you with other athletes of similar ability.

Entry times that qualify for the Top Men and Top Women Mile races will be verified. Entry times for all other sections will not require verification.

The event reserves the right to make heat assignments as it sees best, regardless of entry times.

Chi-Town Miles is part of the 2026 Chicago Racing Circuit. The Circuit provides a competitive structure and recognition for Chicagoland runners and clubs. The Circuit annually honors Chicagoland’s top runners and clubs with Runner of the Year and Club Champion titles. Comprised of various race distances, the Circuit provides all runners - both recreational and competitive - with the opportunity to chase personal, club, and competitive goals.
